it happens to the best of us put an emerald crab in the tank and he will take care of it.

Don't think he will take care of all of it, specially if it's out of controll. You might have to use your hands.

are you talking about cyano or valonia? It can be a nutrient, phosphate and nitrate imbalance issue.

Probably Valonia sp.
It can thrive in low-nutrient water, so don't beat yourself up about it. Try emarld crabs, although you generally need a lot of them. If it's just one rock, take it out and scrub/rinse. If it's all over the place... then I'm very sorry to hear that. :D

I've even had it survive a good baking. You can inject the large bubbles with Calcium hydroxide slurry to keep them from reproducing on bursting. Hope it doesn't get out of control.

I removed them with my fingers. Emerald crabs can clean up more stuff than you want.

I siphon them out when I see them during water changes. Every once in a while I get them and once I remove them I don't see them for months at a time.

Removing them by hand is the best bet. Or siphon them during water changes. Natural predators are not as effective.

I syphon them out during water changes. If they break so be it as they get sucked out anyway as I keep the syphon right on top of them.
