Does anyone know what water level the g2 needs in the sump? Should 6 or 7 inches be enough?

I've read that the best is between 6-8 inches of water, but as long as the pump is submerged, I think it should be ok

Mike,
I have a G2 on a 75 gallon reef as well. I have it running in 7 inches of water. The only mod I have done is the Pf4 Meshmod. Which made a night and day difference. Here is 4 days since last cleaning. Color of skimmate has alot to do with bioload as well.

Pf4 is a type of mesh (enkamat) that is used in place of the needle wheel impeller. To give you a better idea, here is a shot of my sedra pump with the meshmod. This pump produced the nog you see above. 2 layers Pf4.
