I picked this Aquarium Obsessed used from a reefer down in Portland OR back in Oct last year. The stand I am using was one I built following the plans here on RC.

Here are a few shots of the tank, and a few of the stand build...

As you can see in the pictures the tank came with a hole in the back and one in the bottom for a closed loop system. I used the hole in the back for my overflow and capped off the one on the bottom....

Which is in an Oceanic Sump. I have an eheim 1262 return pump that flows through a Pacific Coast CL-280 1/10 HP Inline Chiller, I also have a WavySea for my return line. For additional flow I have a Tunze 6110 controlled by a single controller. My lighting consists of a Blue Wave 3 - 250watt Remote Ballast - HQI powering a Radium 20k bulb in a mini Luminarc III reflector. For calcium needs I have an Octopus Calcium Reactor CR-140 that has been working great once I got it dialed in.

Everything is a little temporary right now, I have a buddy that is going to make me an aluminum stand with a light rack in the near future, this is what it looks like now...

I like the cube. Mine is a little different, but still a 60g cube. I use T5s instead of the MH, but the same skimmer. I like that pink/cranberry milli.

The only thing that concerns me is the overflow on the back of the tank. Did you silicone over the bulkhead on the back of the tank?

Wondering what the size of your drain is? From the looks of things you've got 1.5" abs that then has a 2" to 1.5" bushing that you slotted. How is the noise for your drain?

Tank is looking great too.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here? It is a standard bulkhead on there 1.5" are you refering to the inside part? If so, yes I had to silicone that in place due to the placement of the bulkhead (remember I got it used) I would have placed it a little higher and left all the internal parts slip. This tank is also going to be replaced with another AO but with an external overflow, or an AGE with an external overflow. I have used this overflow (one I'm using now) and have had no issues...the only issue I could potentially see here is the fact that the bulkhead is so low it could cause too much to drain, but I took care of that by siliconing it in place to prevent too much drainage. I plan on having this tank replaced within the next 6 months...change is good:p

You are correct...1.5 drain, abs 2" to 1.5 bushing that I slotted on the tablesaw. noise is actuay very tolerable, on another one I did like this I had to put a screen on it to reduce the noise, there is always a "sweet spot" it seems, this is very quiet actually.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from the king of rimless!!!

Maybe I should consider a custom elos to replace this instead...maybe, then I could use your concept to hide the tunze in the back...

Sorry, got a few PM's about the size and questions about the tank...It's a 24"x24" cube, made by Aquarium Obsessed, it has starfire all around. I got it used so it already had the closed loop drilled so I made do with what I have used before for an overflow...my DIY special ABS overflow:D

Sweet looking tank. I also keep two sixlines in my tank. Are yours paired up? I tried to set up a harem with one male and two females but the larger female got real territorial with the smaller one, so now it's just the two.

Yeah, I bought them as a pair from a LFS, they came out of a customers tank as a pair and have been paired for over a year. I have been kind of staying with the pair theme...pair of sixlines, pair of harlequin shrimp, two cleaner shrimp, two peppermint shrimp.

Here is a shot of my Harlequin shrimp...

I'm always more interested in pairs or groups. It's a lot more interesting to watch how they interact. I did some diving down off of Cuba and was amazed by the hundreds of Royal Gramas living under ledges and walls. I've always wanted to try something similar in my tank, on a smaller scale of course.

Thanks Felix! You will really like a rimless, and I'm a little biased towards the cubes but I think they are the best shape:D et me know when you go rimless, I'd like to follow along.

merlin_451: It really has been interesting to see pairs in the tank. Wish I had an unlimited amout of space to keep up with the theme, but 60g can only hold so much. I have really enjoyed this size though, I have had larger (135g cube), and even smaller (24g Aquapod), but so far this is my favorite.

Did a little work on the tank last pm. I was getting tired of my "pilar of caps" falling into my other rock and breaking corals, so I made a little support out of a piece of acrylic and acrylic rod to get it to stay upright. Overall I'm pretty happy with the result. I also had to get the big open brain out of there as it was getting way too big. Here are some shots from tonight...
