Taken at my "almost" LFS. It stands to about 6' tall.

I dont think that skimmer is worth $8000. It almost looks like a DIY skimmer. Maybe $800

On the right side of the picture there is a link to download it and it says on the skimmer "Aqua Medic" in very faint blue.

I saw that, I just said "it looks like a DIY skimmer". Maybe the performance is insanely amazing. I doubt it though, aqua medic doesn't have the best reputation in Germany, some even compare it to coralife in the US.

i think this is a better example of what an $8000 skimmer should look like

definitely does NOT "look" like an $8000 skimmer. my bubble king looks better than that thing and it was no where near $8000.

I've seen very large RK2 skimmers that are much nicer and have ozone control even for a few thousand less.

That should be renamed as "BORG"

It is an Aqua Medic turboflotor 5000 either single or double (pumps) it is 72" tall. Model # 71003 or 71004. The sugested manufactures resale price is 1,062.00 or 1,380.00. I use lots of their skimmers and in no way are they comparable to coralife, they are a beast. I have a 120 and a 144 with a tubroflotor 1000 and a 150 and a 180 whit their new turboflotor blue 3000, a great skimmer for the price. I also use MyReefCreation Mr2 and Mr3 as well as Sequence Orca skimmers. Dependiond on applacation is what I use. But I do agree with ganjero coralife is less than par in fact they should be ashamed for even making that pice of plastic.

I agree, that's an Aqua-Medic 5000 series Turboflotpor skimmer. Most likely the "Twin" which stands 72" tall and uses dual recirculating Ocean Runner 3700 pumps with needlewheels. A very good performer but can be purchased brand new for less than $1000.

This is Naga's skimmer. I hope he doesn't mind me posting his pic here. THIS is a skimmer worth $8000. I THINK it's a 650 internal, but I'm not sure.

I do believe that's a 500 internal.............IIRC.

But really that's a an little baby compared to what NAGA built (http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=20841&hl=)

I think the OP misplaced a decimal point.................shifted to the left two positions $80.00

I think it's a 500 - but then my memory can be pretty leaky.

500 or 650 is still small compared to that monster he built in the link :D

I wasnt comparing the coralife skimmers to this one. I was just referring about the brand name and quality. I said some people think aqua medic is the low end equipment in Germany like coralife is for the US.

That last skimmer posted by Darg looks like an $8k skimmer, so does the NAGA's
