Still waiting for my power heads/heaters to arrive at my door before turning on the ro/di, any minute now. So, of course i'm over analyzing my plumbing, etc as i wait. My question is, the metal clamp i put on (might be stainless, i don't know) the hose connecting to the sump pump is going to be under water. Is that safe for the fish? It's a standard plumber's clamp for hose, not sure if it would be aquarium safe or not.

You can get plastic hose clamps, they snap around the hose. Or you can use plastic cable ties, You can get them from any home depot or lowes
