be sure to cover the top of the tank and be aware of over spray! A roller works very well with little mess use a short nap for less texture. BTW mine is blue and I love it

If you aren't sure what color you want, I would suggest getting one of those cheap two sided backgrounds from your LFS, they are blue on one side, and black on the other.

I personally like the blue side better. Each person is different. So if you aren't sure, do that before you paint it.

I used a dark blue mat board from a hobby store ( basically really thick construction paper) and clear coated it to make it somewhat watertight, and it's not permanent if I ever want to change it

i use yankee stadium blueprints. you can paint them to any color you would like..just cant spill water on them!

mine is blue and I spray painted it with Krylon Fusion paint. About $3 a can from WalMart. I have a 125g and it took me 4 cans.

I like a lighter blue color as the corals etc look better to me with a blue background. I didn't want to create the abyss.:rollface: Plus the blue brightens up the tank more. Just my preference.

I like blue. Though I really should take a picture with both black and blue. But for now, here is my vote for blue. :)
