Bending acrylic rods

I tried search w/ no results.
I'm making pillars w/ acrylic rods, some hollow, some solid.
I want to bend the hollow ones U shape, anyone have a link or something?
I thought I saw a video, reefvideo or something?

fill it with sand, cap it off, heat slowly, then bend.
