Was very excited yesterday, replaced my old noisy tar ballast with 2 nice shiny Icecap 175 MH ballasts!

Well, when I fired up the first one it trippd the GFI power strip. When plugged into the wall directly they operate with no problem.

The breaker is also a 15A breaker. This is not being tripped when plugging directly into wall.

This new house has AFCI wiring all inside of it, not sure if that is an issue.

Now the Icecap 175 ballast only has a draw of 1.5A, I am well below this - the only thing on the strip:

1. is a GenX PCH-40 @ 1.2 A
2. Icecap 430 VHO ballast @ 3.3 A
3. 2 computer fans, low low draw.

I'm well below that - tried another GFI strip and it tripped that as well...

Any help greatly appreciated.

I don't know whether there's any way to fix that problem. You might do better with an in-wall style GFI. I don't see why that ballast should trip a GFI. I have two in operation with no trouble.

I've told ballast has current leakage. My light trips GFCI too when I turn on all 3 sets of ballasts.
