I need to find out if it is safe to have cured PVC cement under water in the tank. If anybody can point me in the right direction or tell me it would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

absolutely

its safe once it isnt wet to the touch. probably safe before that, but wait a few minutes to be sure ;)

flyyyguy, thanks for the reply. I knew it was safe to use to glue the pipe together but wasn't sure about having any glued joints under the water. The extra glue that comes out around the pipe that stays there is what I was worried about.

think of all the glue that pushes out INSIDE the pipe on every joint you put together

especially if you are like me and always use way more than needed :)

Thanks again. I was thinking the same thing but just wasn't sure. Sometimes I don't always think right. I think everybody uese more than needed. LOL

Using too much weakens the PVC . I have seen pipes crack after 4 years in areas where too much glue was used

schedule 40 or more?? NOT

and if it was class 200 you are talking about it wasnt the glue that made it crack...it was cheap crap pipe that got old and most likely was plumbed with a stress fit
