Hello, I have a tank that I have sitting around and I would like to plumb it into my system as a frag tank and was wondering if I could use the same type of bulb to light the frag tank? I am going to be using a ten gallon and the bulb I am considering is a 5500K full spectrum bulb which I have used to grow chaeto in my fuge(and it works great for that). I would use two bulbs and was wondering if that would be sufficient, chaeto is listed as having a "high" light requirment so it made me think I could use this as an inexpensive alternative to frag tank lighting. It would be located under my stand, next to my sump so I dont care about the yellowish looking light, it would have the same lighting schedule as my fuge(18on/6off)

a lot of corals will bleach out at a kelvin rating that low.

you want at least 10,000K to 12,000K range.

hmmmm, why do they say a 6500k iwasaki bulb yields the fastest growth? i thought that was b/c it was a more red/yellow spectrum. no?
