Nitrates and Nitrites up....help

Well guys, all water parameters were fine over the last week or so. On Sunday I added some LR and now my nitrates are up around 40 and my nitrites around 1...is this just part of the cycling process or should i be worried?

I would think, looking at your previous thread that this is part of the cycling process.

Yeah adding live rock can cause a mini cycle as long as the nitrites and nitrates go down you should be fine if there is ammonia in testing in the tank and you have live stock in the tank that could be an issue but nitrites and nitrates shouldn't be a problem with livestock if they are not to high. To lower them you could do a water change but i would just keep an eye out on the levels for now. This is normal when the live rock is not fully cured you will have some that is decaying and dying and cause these levels to rise. HTH
