Borrow this pic from someone. Can some one tell me how to start the flow?

Look for a button or switch. Should look something like this,

Ok, seriously, if you can't get some airline into it at the highest point, I would submerge it in a tub of water and rotate it until all the air is purged. Then just lift it out right-side up and it should be primed. But you should probably look into drilling a hole in the very top and gluing a tit and valve for air line into it.

Seriously? I looked all over and I can't find the tit part. Who makes it?

Drill hole. Insert air line/valve/whatever works. Glue. Suck air out. Close valve to make it air tight again. Done. Just like any other HOB overflow.

You can also prime it by closing off the air vent and pumping water into the part in the tank, until you get get a siphon started (and if you have enough water in the main tank so it can siphon for a few seconds), then open up the air vent. Not the easiest to do but it does work.
