I am interested in the mighty-mite. How often do you run yours? How often do the filters need replaced? I would be appreciative of any info. like that .

I think the filters will need to be replaced about every year and they cost about $27 total. It works great for the little amount of water I need, I just hook it up to my basement sink and get the water I need and unplug it. No messes and very easy to use. The free tds meter also works very well. I make about 5-7 gallons a week, and it only takes about 20 mins to make 1 gallon.

Thanks for the response. Very helpful. I think that it may serve my purpose as well. What is your TDS In/out?

Been looking into getting one of these also as the LFS is a hike from my house & with gas prices as they are.....I haven't ordered it yet but where did you see free meter? I saw one for $14.95 (cheapest they sell but not free, lol)

How did you get a free meter?

They used to have a promotional deal for a $0.01 TDS meter (now $14.95). Wasn't really "free" but pff...a penny is close enough.

For anybody wondering whether or not to buy a unit from Air Water & Ice, I highly recommend them. Don's extremely helpful. Sent an e-mail about a unit, replied next morning. Ordered it later that week. Called with another question and Don was very helpful once again.

The unit I ordered was the HURRICANE DUAL HOME / REEF With Permeate Pump. Knew it was a superb unit right when I opened the box. Installed in under 30 minutes. TDS has been brought down to zero from around 600. And the RO water tastes just as good, if not better, than the drinking water I had previously been purchasing for 30 cents a gallon. Calculating the cost of water without this unit, I'd been spending roughly $300 a year. So much money saved.

Anyone know if the free tds meter is still going on?

Nope. If it was, would be noted on their website. I love the unit though. Use the code to get 10.00 off, found it on this site.
