About $25 ;)
Kidding aside; the lab grades will hold a calibration a bit longer, respond to changes in the water a bit faster and last a bit longer.
If you are diligent at cleaning and calibrating the probe (about once per month) then you can really (IMO) go with either; I have had standard grade probes last well over a year and still calibrate and give good reading so in reality I haven't seen much difference. But if you really want the longest lasting for the money; get a refillable probe; it lasts nearly forever, you just refill the fluid on a schedule (I think a refill is about $4. When my probes finally die I will be changing to the refillable ones!
Lab grade probes have the following advantages:
- Higher quality junction which results in a longer probe lifetime.
- Epoxy seal on the tip of the probe. The seal makes the probe pressure rated so that it can be mounted in inline fittings.
