here is some good info on them.

corals can live for eternity if parameters are kept up.

I bought this about 2 years ago. when i got it, it was the size of a baseball, not its the size of 1 1/2 softballs. i dont do anything to it. just feed the fish rods reef & mysis, and do weekly water changes.

very hardy coral IME.

two things are confusing me here ----It appears like there is a mouth to this frog spawn and the length of the polyps---this looks more like an anenome to me:confused:

company over again and a few brown pops later--it could be wrong:lol:

The wall type frogsspawns(euphylia para divisa) have a visible mouth. Moderate flow and moderate to high light. Give it penty of room . They expand to a surprisingly large size and deliver a powerful sting.

with good water parameters it can easily expand 2-3x the size of its skeleton. wear gloves when handling because it will sting and if moving out of the water, let the tissue retract to its skeleton because the weight of the water can damage its tissue. i never spot feed, feeding the fish is enough to feed frogspawns. also give it plenty of room because of its sweeper tentacles. hammer/ridge corals and other frogspawn corals can touch each other w/ out any problems. (i put my 3 right next to each other and get a really cool look). PC lights are enough, if using MH place the coral towards the lower half of the tank. Moderate to low water will allow for better expansion. congrats you've chosen one of the hardiest and least demanding coral.

Regarding touching. It has been my experience that Torch corals( Euphylia glasrescens) can touch hammer corals (Euphylia anchora) as well as other torches without stinging..My torches will, however, sting my frogspawn (Euphylia para divisa) and vice versa.

As far as lifespan is concerned, my LFS has a HUGE frogspawn (about 1 and half feet across). They have had that one for 18 years!!
