AP 24 refuge???

Hello to all. Has anyone modded there AP 24 with a refuge? I am thinking of something for the back chambers. Any ideas? I also upgraded to a Maxi-jet 1200. Do I need to remove any of the skimmer plates? Where should my water line be in the filter?
