Ok I have these strange needle like structures growing. The tank, 72 g, has been set up for 6 months. I have clowns, a yellow tang, Lawnmower blenny, chromis and four turbo snails with 50 lbs of live rock and another 25 of other corals.

I have noticed these pinkish or brown spots, very small, the size of a large pin head, with a white calcium tube of various lengths growing out of it. It's definitely hard, and difficult to break off. Any clues what's starting to grow? Most of it is growing on the dead coral in the tank. Some has grown on the live rock and a few on the powerhead housing.

Any clues where to look for ID?

Thanks

Dave

can you get a picture? It almost sounds like tiny fan worms, in which case is pretty common to see after your tank has been up a while.
