Ok guys I'm getting ready to place my order for my aquacontroller 3 with temp, pH and DC8. I'm going to use this ac3 to monitor my tank online and turn things on and off automatically or via the web and have it as a pH monitor for my calcium reactor.

Now for my questions

1. Whats the difference between the x10 and dc8? I did some research and I'm now thinking I may need the x10 to turn my lights, chiller etc on and off? Or will the dc8 do everything (turn equipment off automatically or manually online)for me? Any clarifications would be great.

2. I read that there's an option where you could have your ac3 connect to the internet wirelessly, but I tried searching on neptunes page and no luck. anyone know the part number?

Tank background
40 gallon breeder
20 gallon sump
aquatinics tx5 fixture
er-rs100 skimmer
eheim 1260 return pump
wavysea
jbj 1/10 chiller
2x toms lifter pump
geo calcium reactor

I plan to run the lights, chiller and the calcium reactor on the dc8 so I can have it turn it on and off automatically or manually via web

Thanks

DC8, DC4, etc is likel X10 but without the hassle that comes with X10. They are still X10 controlled but they are direct connected so they do not suffer from the issues that can plague traditional X10 devices. You can do everything with DC8, DC4, etc that you can with X10.

With the AC3 and AC3 pro there is no additional Neptune equipment needed. You will need a way to connect the AC3 to your network, Ethernet or a wireless game adapter (of which there are many to choose from).

You should be good to go.
