I have a 250 watt ballast that has stopped lighting the bulb. It is trying to fire the bulb, the arc tube has an arc, but will not fully fire. I switched leads to the socket and my other Ice Cap ballast will fire the bulb so I know it is not the socket or bulb. I did also try the other bulb with same results.
Your thoughts?

Send the ballast in for us to inspect. If under the 3 year warranty we will take care of it for you. Send to Icecap 9B South Gold Dr Hamilton NJ 08691.

One of my new style 250 watt starts to have the same problem as described above. I bought 2 last year in August but it's not put in use 'til Jan 08. Do I need to send the receive along with the ballast ?
Thanks

Reference manufacturer's date on ballast:

Look at the date on the serial number label.
It is 6 digits towards the lower right of the label.
Goes by month - day - and year.
112807 would be todays date. (or 051808 based on this post by Cajun Reefer on May 18, 2008)
From several messages (which I can't seem to find right now  ) by IceCap Service, you don't need a receipt as long as you are within the 3 year manufacturer's date. Also, they've also indicated they allow for 2-4 months of shelf life from the 3 year date. HTH!
