I have two 96x48x12in. (239 gallon approx.) frag tanks that I am setting up in my frag room. One will be plumbed into the main system, while the other will be a dedicated coral qurantine tank. I ordered 4x light rail kits from Drs. Foster and Smith (two for each tank) that will run on a 9 ft. span. Will two 250 watt DE 20k's mounted in lemenbright pendants be adequate for lighting? My display is 1100 gallons and the 12x 400watters on it alone along with the 2HP tradewind chiller is killing the electric bill. Thanks for all of your help!

So you are going to mount 2x 250w halides over each of the 4x8 tanks? Well, it won't be the surface_of_the_sun like your display tank. But that will be plenty of light as long as you account for the coverage of your fixtures. Which is to say that the outer edges of the tank will be a bit shady-er than directly under the 250s.

Which is fine for the majority of corals, really. Though I'd expect some color shifting from your display.

Good luck with your setup.
