I've always had one fish or another that would occasionally scrap with its own reflection in the glass but lately its getting to be more fish and more often.
I had a Radiant that damaged his mouth from ramming the glass and died as a result several months back. I recently got a new radiant and he has started doing the same thing so I'm getting concerned. Also in the last few days or so my Hippo and BJ trigger have caught on and are doing this with a lot of frequency, in addition so does my mimic tang but not as much as the others.

Are there any tricks to eliminate the reflections? My lighting is 3 150 watt HQI(Pheonix 14K left and right with AB 10K center) with 4 96 watt pc in an Aqualight pro fixture so I can't adjust the height but I can slide the back or front of center.

as bad as this sounds .. dont clean the glass more often. Also possibly putting lamps next to the tank wont make it so reflective inside??? that could be worth a try.

in the past (before i had coraline completely covering the glass) i would tape white papeer to the outside of the tank. the white helps to eliminate the reflectivity that occurs. A darker color will increase the reflections so make sure you use white. However once you start getting good coraline growth just let it grow. I only scrape the front viewing panel of the my tank. Both sides and back are completely purple so i don't have to worry about them now.

I'll definately try the lamps, but your right about not cleaning the glass, sounds bad.

I have corraline covering the back panel so my problems are the front and sides which are veiwable so I keep them clean. If I don't keep the glass clean corraline very quickly takes over. I'll try the lights then try covering the sides to see if it helps.
