no stocking until you let the rock settle into your tank and its parameters; I would give it at least a couple of weeks

Fish Species that would work:

Clownfish
Cardinalfish
Bassletts/Assesors
Small Wrasses (Most Flasher Wrasses)
Gobies/Dartfish
Blennies
Jawfish

An example stock list (Assuming you have the largest Biocube) based on the above species:
Blackcap Basslett
Firefish (Red, Purple or Helfrichi as those are getting cheaper)
Pair of Clowns
Bangaii Cardinal

Lots of options and ways to mix and match.

Aside from gobies and maybe one or two species of blennies, none of illuminati's suggestions would work in an 8 gallon. I think he/she thought you were getting a 28 gallon. If you check out liveaquaria.com they have a nano section of fish, just be sure to click on the fish you're interested in then see the minimum tank size. You're going to be limited to 1 or 2 fish in a tank that size, even if they're really small fish.

As Homer Simpson would say D'oh!

Didn't see the 8g part until I just read the post again.

Ignore my advice :)
