Roger,

I recently got a Turbelle Electronic Powerhead kit (used) from a friend and am having problems mounting the pumps. Since he no longer had the instructions for the kit I cannot look at them for help. I have a standard Oceanic 200 gallon tank. This tank has the standard 3/4" plastic trim/support around the top of the tank.

I cannot get the mounting brackets to fit over the trim, even with the nylon bolts opened all the way. I even tried to find longer nylon bolts at Home Depot and Lowes, but the longest I could find were 1-1/2"....just like those that came with the pumps.

I searched this forum, but was unable to find anything that would help out of this. I read this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=132241 hoping it would help, but I am still unable to mount them.

Am I missing something here? Is there another configuration for these brackets that I am unaware of because I am lacking the instructions? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

For the heavy trim used on Oceanic aquariums we offer a kit 3000.244 it includes two steel screws coated in smiths black to prevent corrosion. It also includes a suction cup to act as a spacer at the bottom of the rail, these kits are $3.21 each. Plastic screws bow too much after 1.5" The screws we use have a graphite reinforcement and I think standard Nylon would just be too soft. A local specialty nut and bolt store may have suitable screws as well, they are metric thread, M5 * 55mm, this will probably get you running faster as you maybe able to get them in town and I have seen them in high grade stainless if you prefer. If you like I can email you a PDF of the manual, just email me off the board. I will be out for about an hour as I need to go get some electronic components for a repair.

Thanks a bunch Roger, I will get screws from Home Depot as a temporary fix and order the kit you offer for a long term fix. Can I order the kit from you or do I need to contact a retailer like Premium Aquatics or Marine Depot?

I will email you for the PDF of the manual.

Thank you for your help.

Marine Depot has them in stock right now, while we sell direct on parts my supply is a bit low until mid January and I would rather hold onto them for a pinch.
