ABS pvc, is it useable?

Anyone use ABS PVC? I remember reading somewhere that said it mike leak toxins or something, if someone can refresh my memory it would be helpful. Thanks.

Also, can I use that black rubber pipes and tees that they also sell in the plumbing section?
