mg and ca kits

Jesse,

I would like for you to clarify one thing for me on your tritation kits especially concerning the mg and ca kits. According to the directions it says too swirl vial for 30 seconds between each drop. Is the 30 second time a necessity. i only swirl mine between 5-10 seconds between drops. Will this give a false reading doing it this way and not the 30 seconds as stated?

no it is not needed but when the color changes it is very important to swirl for the full 30 seconds to make sure the color remains the same, meaning you have reached your end point. On a similar subject it is imperative to swirl for the full 30 seconds after adding reagent A on the mg kit before adding the reagent B. Hope that helps.
