Can anyone comment on how this product works in comparison to vinegar? What is the PH of the (mixed) solution?

Thanks Bebo77; I was curious about the PH in order to compare the effectiveness of EZ-Clean over vinegar. Vinegar has a PH around 2.4, Muric Acid diluted 10:1 has a PH near 0 (though not all plastics can be cleaned with the later). I've read threads indicating that EX-Clean is not noticeably better than vinegar (but costs more) and figured that PH would be a good indication of its effectiveness.

Glad to hear you feel the product works well. Do you use it on your Tunze?

I soak my tunzes in it for about 2 hours and they are spotless and ready to do. It's really a great product.

Have you used vinegar in the past; can you comment on the differences?

Vinegar works, probably as well, it just takes longer.
I use the EZ clean on my external pumps and Eheims. There is no scrubbing or even brushing. Everything just comes off.

How much EZClean do you mix (in other words); is it economical? Cost per gallon?

Whatever it says on the jar. I usually dilute it a little more, which means you just have to leave it in the solution longer.

I use it for my Barracuda and Hammerhead pumps also. Just fill them up and let them soak for a few hours, flush them out and they are clean. I usually suck out the solution with a shop vac, which is still working so it's not damaging the vacuum.

I haven't purchased it yet; I was hoping to find out how it's cost compares to other options (e.g. Vinegar).

Nothing is cheaper than vinegar. Costco has two galons for very little $$.
