hi,
i have posted this question in the old deltec forum. my question was would the remodeling of the MCE300 be backwards compatible with the old ones? is it something that you guys added? or is it a total make over for the 300. it would suck if it was not backwards compatible even though the skimmer is still great.
thanks

i looks like the put the pump inside the tube on the center so all the old owners need is the new internals.
What else has changed marvin?

thanks for the image, the change seems to be minimal but im guessing this improves the skimmers performance? i wonder if theres any bigger images we can see of what has actually been done? is the pump still the MJ1000 with NW? or is it different now

The input tube has been lowered. The new ones should leave the factory in the next few weeks.

hey Marvin,
would there be an upgrade kit for the older models for the MCE300?

can i get a set of new internal tubes? The turbulence must be much lower with the pump where it is.

I guess the new position of the pump can help to solve the potential "micro bubble" issue.

i don't get that many micro-bubbles from mine but the lower pump increases contact time so the performance should be improved

i am wondering if we are able to grab an upgrade kit, id definitely be interested to see if i can increase the performance of my MCE300 without doing a meshmod to it.
Marvin, any news on if we are able to get an upgrade kit?

Guys
To clear any confusion
The only changes to the new MCE300 will be that the suction pipe will fit into a port in the side of the skimmer body - a little like the outlet pipe however it will push straight through to connect up with the pipe that goes down to the pump.
The benefits of this are:
1 - it is easier to adjust how far the suction pipe sticks out into the tank as the pipe can be cut to length.
2 - as the pipe enters the body at a lower point rather than going up and over the skimmer looks neater.
3 - as the water is not sucked so high to enter the pump then there is less head pressure and the pump is left with more power to create air - ie the amount of air increases.
4 - For the same reason it is also easier to start.
The main changes are to the body of the skimmer and there are no changes to the pump or pinwheel and so it is not really possible to adapt older versions economically - sorry guys.
Hope this clears things a little

thanks for clearing that up:) just got a few questions
you said that there will be less head pressure so increased in air intake. how much of an increase is it?
and does that mean that deltec will not be able to provide a kit in witch we can purchase to convert our older MCE300s to the newer models?
