I can run 2X 175 ballasts manually off of a power strip but the second I try to use a timer it trips the GFCI strip I have plugged into the outlet. Knocks out my return pump...not ideal since I'm going on vacay in 3 days.

Everything for my tank is running off a 15A circuit and I'm below 80% of the capacity.

Any special timer that is needed? The ones I am using now are the standard 15A heavy duty ones from the depot...

You may want to try using one timer per 175MH ballast. The initial inrush current surge may be causing this. The Icecap digital timer will handle 2 ballasts but we usually recommend only one ballast per timer.

Found the issue to be with a pump that was running on a GFI. Got the ballasts working on regular 15A HD timers. Many thanks.

Also very happy with the new 175W 20K bulbs - -great color rendition. Thanks to Bill at Reefkeepers for the suggestion!
