I've had a favia in my tank for a few days
My tank is four months old and the LFS said it should do well.
How do i know if it is not doing well. I have had a bad track record w/ inverts. I can't keep snails alive to save my life. I don't want the favia to die.
Also when do the tentacles come out for it to feed?

Some good basic methods would be change 10% of water every week, use ro/di water, keep your levels stable, temp constant, feed live (frozen) food for the coral to eat. The polyps open up at night, or after you feed. You might try to wait until the lights are out, feed a little, wait 10 minutes, turn off flow, feed it directly with a turkey baster a couple times each week. I would lay off buying more corals until you can get that to live and get used to keeping your water, lighting, and flow perfect to sustain life.

Good luck and keep reading - you will find more help with your favia in the LPS forum by the way, they will most likely move this thread over there.
