can someone show me to the thread for making your own kalkwaser-- and calcium

I am not sure of a link but this should work
CaCO3 ( Coral skeletons)
heat until about 800 degrees Celsius to drive off co2
now you have CaO
disolve in water ( pretty reactive exothermic) CaO + H2O -> Ca(OH)2
You can't store the CaO as it will absorb CO2 from the environment.
Or you can take elemental Ca (the metal) and dissolve it in cold water.
Ca + 2H2O -> Ca(OH)2 + 2H (Hydrogen gas is explosive so be careful)
It is so much easier to buy it, and it is dirt cheep.

no offense--but what the hoo hoo are you talking about--i'm no chemist--i just want to know about measuring pickling lime to make diy kalk

He's giving you instructions to make pickling lime from coral skeletons or limestone. You just need to buy the pickling lime. If you need a calcium-only supplement, a number of vendors sell calcium chloride in bulk.
