Just noticed today, weird yellow stuff on my green polyp. The best way to describe it is a ball of yellow thread. Anybody know what this is and what I should do about it? I have 2 damsels in the tank that Im trying to get out; could they have nipped it and caused some tissue damage? It also looks like the coral will be propagating soon, so maybe this is part of it? Here are two pics, one is from a week ago and the other with the yellow stuff today. Last weeks had the halides on and tonights didnt so I used a flash; thats why the color is different. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

my initial thought may be its expelling some of its own zooxanthellate (sp?)

not sure what it is but it should be fine. As long as all your params. are OK just keep an eye on him.

Thanks for the replies so far. Weird stuff; it just popped up with no signs. It doesnt seem to be affecting the overall health. I took a gander at it this morning but couldnt get a good look at it since the lights werent on and it was still retracted. It might have been gone already, but cant say for sure. Plan on checking the parameters when I get home. Im thinking it was some kind of tissue damage from either a damsel or hermit. Kind of reminded me of the noodley things that were in my hand when I sliced it open wakeboarding...
