I have a female mandarin dragonett that is about 2.5 in long. If I get a male, what are the chances that they will pair?
Thanks

There are no guarantees but they aren't the hardest fish to pair up. However, a 90g is going to struggle to maintain a pod population big enough for 2, even withe a fuge. I keep 2 in a 180g and I still think they are lacking in pods.

I don't believe that pod population will be a problem with two because with the one mandarin in the display, she is very fat, and there is still enough pods that they can be seen constantly on the glass. I have had it like this for six months.
Is this normal, or do you think this pod population could support a male mandarin?

I agree with BangkokMatt, it is iffy adding a second mandarin in this size tank.
