I was looking at the fairy wrasse thread and noticed it was mentioned there that wrasses can be aggressive torwards firefish . I had not heard this before and could not find alot of info. on it now . I have 4 x reg. firefish coming in today , they will be in qt for 4-6 wks , but after that I was planning to add them to my 240g display . what are my chances of adding them without issue ? I have / will have the following wrasses in there .

radiant ( adding at same time as firefish )
mc coskers flasher ( adding at same time as firefish )
divided leopard ( female )
blue sided fairy ( male ? )
lubbocks fairy ( male )

the only others I would possibly add to this list would be some females for the existing males . thanks

Well, some bad news first. In your size tank, you may get away with four firefish but I doubt that they will not prune the herd down to 1 or if you are lucky a mated pair. They generally do not like each other. A lot.

4 of the 5 wrasses you cite are often intimidating to firefish.

Good luck though!

I have 3 Lubbock's (don't know sex) with a plain red firefish in a 120 with too many other fish as well.
Firefish is not bothered by wrasses or others and is out in the water most of the time on one side of the tank.
He does stay away from the Royal Gramma on the other side where the RG lives.
BTW avatar is the 40g.

Good luck though! For my 90, I picked up two random firefish (seven or eight in the tank) and they relied on each other for protection. Once they acclimated to my tank, they even began to share a hole in the rockwork.

Got a plain Red firefish in our 125 and a blue "cleaner' wrasse...No problems with either...clownfish intimidate the fire fish more than the yellow or blue tangs do...

I have a red firefish pair(also got lucky on that) and a Solarensis wrasse. I havent had any issues with the wrasse bothering them.

I have a radiant, McCosker's, divided leopard, and a juv. chisletooth together. They all get along fine. The flasher did chase the little chistletooth for a little while at first. I think you'll be ok if you add a few of the firefish together. They do seem to have strength in numbers. The wrasses seem to mostly not like other wrasses whos body is shaped much like their own.
