stuuuuuuupid question... but can fish smell? hear?

i am sure they can smell food... do they have extraordinary senses, just like dogs do?

yep, and their "ears" generally run the entire length of their body (the "lateral line" as it's called) so they are much more sensitive to sound than we are.

they are especially sensitive to "dense" sounds, such as sounds that travel through a medium as it is transported much more clearly. an example of this would be you jumping up and landing on your floor. the thud on the ground you make can make some fish jump.
