I just bought a cleaner wrasse at my LFS and noticed they had a sale on assorted damsels. So I got one that I thought looked pretty cool. I do not know what breed it is but it's pink with a yellow head and fins with a black spot on his back. But anyway, when he eats, he puts the food in his mouth then just spits it back out everytime. I have tried 2 different types of flakes, some small pellets for my freshwater fish, and freeze dried blood worms. But he spits it right back out. I bought the fish 2 days ago and it is still quite active. It's pretty small, no longer than an inch. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Not uncommon, IME. I think the fish is possibly taste testing the new fare, and will eventually start eating. Any damsel I've kept has not been too particular. Most will eat just about anything.

I am pretty sure that it is a Talbot's Damsel, just a guess, and it probably will eat soon enough.
