Start a Chato or Mangrove Refugium

Simple Rubbermaid or Sterilite tub with a bulkhead for a drain will do the trick. throw some live rock rubble in there too and you'll have a nice place for the pods to grow.

I have a 5g tub refuge on my 65g tank..
Just pump water in from the sump with a small powerhead or tap the drain or return pump line.

I do have Sump/Fuge 45g, half is Fuge with Chaetos but still getting some blackish algae growing on subtrate and HA on some LR. Couple of months ago I changed my lights from T5HO to 2*175MH and put some dead LR got from someone locally.

Any tips or ideas...

Drip Kalkwasser.

Dripping Kalk into the intake of your skimmer will remove some phosphates, but even if you don't have a reactor you can run phosphate removing media in a filter bag, it is just not as effective as running it in a reactor.
