Im considering one of these for my 24g NC. Although I do know that theyre not even out yet maybe a couple of you can tell me about experience with the older models, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Iv heard good things about them. I see them all the time on ebay but i also hear alot of good things about the tunze skimmer.

I hear good about the tunze too. THe thing is i really like the idea of not having to mod my hood to fit the collection cup (which is needed for the tunze and not the sapphire).
ANymore input would be great!

I had some scrap acrylic in the garage so I just built my own. The sapphire skimmers are a really simple design.

I have the Sapphire in my NC24. It skims wet but the nasty stuff collects on the inside of the riser tube. Overall I'm content, but if the Tunze would fit without any modifications in the NC24 I would definitely go for the Tunze.

Do you still like the Sapphire? I tried one in Feb and it quit working after 3 days and I returned it. But, being the only skimmer around I can put in a AP 24G, I'm thinking about trying the new one they are coming out with thru Nanotuners (I think that's the company anyway)

I just got a sapphire skimmer, when it is all the way in chamber 1 no bubbles come up the collection tube but my tank is full of micro bubbles. Any suggestions?

That's what happened with mine too! It skimmed for like one day and then nothing. The water was flowing, proper height of the cup vs. water, checked/cleaned the pump ect and nada. That's why I took it back! Maybe it was a fluke but makes me nervous to buy another.

Did you try adjusting the pump? There are 4 levels on mine and I have been setting it to level 2.
