I have a PFO 2x96w (192w total) compact flourescent system right now, and I was wondering if I could re-wire it to slightly underdrive 4 55w T5's (220w total).

So I guess the basic question is... Are the ballasts for a CF system the same as ballasts for t-5s?

A Fullham Workhorse 7 ballast will fire 2x96w/PCs
and will also fire 3x54w T-5s and according to the Fullham site the 7 will fire 4x54w T-5s as well.
Maybe you could use that as a reference point.

You can get the wiring diagrams here. (http://www.fulham.com/)

Some ballasts for PC lamps are the same for T5HO lamps but not all of them. They have slight different electrical requirements. I believe PFO Lighting uses Fulham Workhorse ballasts for the PC units they make. I’m not sure which model yours would have. The Fulham Workhorse ballasts will light T5HO lamps. The number of lamps it will light depends on the model.

I have a work horse 7 running 2x110 watt VHO and I know it will do 4x54 watt T-5's.
