Id like to add a sailfin tang to my 220g reef but i heard alot about them turning very aggressive, is this true?
Right now i have a 3" hippo tang and a 6" naso tang
would a sailfin beat them up?

No it wont beat them up because they are already established, but they are one the meanest of the tangs. I have a red sea and love it. You should be fine.

she lives with a large hippo, large naso, did live with a purple but he was getting beat up by a sohal which went to a new home. She also lives with a large rabbitfish

You should be fine. I have one in my 90. i added a chocolate tang and a little after the sailfin and as soon as i put them in they were both friends.

Agree. My purple, sailfin, and tomini are best buds. Monkey see monkey do.

I have three of them in separate tanks (one for about 5 years now), and they are my absolute favorites. Model citizens, healthy as horses, and very personable. It's like having a goofy dog, always looking for a handout.

Sailfins are great. Hardy, great eaters and docile. I have one going on 4 years now and he doesn't bother a thing. I added a hippo and naso long after he was in the tank and he could of cared less.

Ive had two, my latest being the red sea and she pretty cool. Ive a purple with her for a year and he's "always" spooked which than spooks her.
My first sailfin was the best fish Ive had. Like coralnut said it was like having a dog. Always at the glass dancing back and forth - excited. Never spooked liked tangs can be. Then I lost her due to my own carelessness.
So my experience has been positive and I would recommend one.

Well, it's one of those things that's bound to happen. They are super tough, great appetites, and from what I've seen are nearly impervious to parasites. It's too bad there isn't a dwarf version.

I just got a sailfin as well and added it to my 125. My Sohal and Yellow Tang each gave her a hard time (more the Yellow Tang then the sohal) for a day or so but all seems fine now... I also added a flame angel and a Copperbanded butterfly and everyone is getting along fine...

Yep, I love my Sailfin. Great fish with lots of personality. I hand feed him all the time.

Had a sailfin tang in my 90g. It was pretty aggressive towards any new addition. So I guess its a hit or miss...
