Well my question is just that "What MEDIA Would You Recommend To Put In a Fluval 405?" I have 8 spots to put different media in... so what would you put in?

carbon. Change it out every 2 weeks. You also could put some phosphate binder in there. The most efficient system that gets the most bang for the buck out of your media is a fluidized bed reactor.

I wouldn't put other media in there as it could become a nitrate factory.

it really depends on what you want the filter to do for you.

Me I would say if it is for a reef tank, either put nothing at all in it, or you could run some carbon or phosphate media in it as crumbletop suggests.
