Couple questions regarding the website.

When you upload new ricordea pictures are they placed at the beginning of the list or the end?

I am having some issues with the website. When a page loads, it has around 700 items to load. This takes a long time even with high speed connection. Can anything be done to correct that?
Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Acipenser,

1) The newest WYSIWYG Ricordea are first. This particular group is (T). That means that the oldest groups (Z,Y...) have been growing in our systems for several months. Which means that these polyps have gotten quite a bit larger than when we took their photo...some even have added mouths. Something to keep in mind when browsing our selection.... :-)

2) What web browser are you using? We use and recommend Firefox. It's a free download, and are much, much happier with it than IE. The site was designed to work with Firefox best. This might factor into the speed of loading.

The website is relatively new (since the end of February '08), and it is the first website that we have ever built, so we are always trying to improve it. We definitely appreciate hearing feedback about it's functionality, so we can try to clean things up and make everything more user-friendly. If anyone runs into problems or errors, please contact us about it so we can try and correct them.

Thanks,
Colin

Nice rics!

Isn't apparent where to look for shipping charges/info on the website.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll see if I can make it more visible on the site...Still getting used to our shopping cart software....
The info can be found here... (http://coralmorphologic.com/xcart/help.php?section=conditions)

To mitigate the costs of shipping, we always include free polyps in every box. To see how this works, check out our discounts here... (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1389024)

Shipping is with FedEx (UPS Ground for in-state).

Standard Overnight is $49 (Typically by 3:30 pm)
Priority Overnight is $59 (Typically by 10:30 am)

Florida In-State (Minus panhandle) $15

Shipping prices include all packing materials and boxes.

All animals are shipped inside a professional tropical fish box with 1.5" thick Styrofoam walls. These boxes are reusable and handy to bring to your local fish store, frag swaps, etc.

We use double-lined, durable 3 mil shipping bags, filled with pure oxygen to pack our polyps. We won't risk losing polyps by over-packing them in a smaller box. When in doubt, we err on the side of caution and use a larger box for your animals.

When weather conditions require them, heat or cold packs are used (at no extra charge).

Keep in mind that for a small company like Coral Morphologic, we do not aim to make any money on shipping charges. That is not part of our business model. Some larger suppliers may advertise lower shipping, but this is based on their larger shipping volumes, and negotiated prices with shipping carriers. We do not consider USPS or DHL reliable enough carriers to deliver your live animals. In the future, we anticipate being able to lower our shipping prices as we grow and our volumes increase.

Cheers,
Colin
