Will my butterly eat my future clam? He doesn't pick at my corals. My nitrates are at 10 is that too high for a clam? Tank is a 75, 500 watts metal halide for 7.5 hours a day and 4 hours just t5 actinic.

I don;t know what to expect from my guy. I got him eating in one day mysis and cleared my tank of aiptasia in less than one day. I got really lucky since they usually are so fragile. He also has yet to pick at my corals (I have mushrooms, open brains, anthelia, montipora, zoas, palys, faviids) Does this say anything about eating clams or not really?

What about nitrates at 10? Are those okay?? My lighting is definitely overkill which I'd think a clam would like. TIA

cant tell you one way or the other if it will nip at a clam.some do some dont and some can be great for a while and then start.

the nitrates are fine but i would work on getting them down to 5 or lower

I had one fish that didn't bother anything for about 6 months and then all the sudden started picking at my clams and zoas, killed a lot of stuff on me, not worth the risk, pick on or the other in my opinion
