View Full Version : return pump recommendation

I have about 15' feet of head, and have been using a Panworld 200ps for a return, and a smaller pump for my ETSS skimmer. This was overkill, my overflows barley kept up, and it used a lot of electricity.

My skimmer worked badly and ETSS said I need a pressure pump that was even a little bigger than my return. So I switched the pumps.

Unfortunately the small pump is not enough for a return. It is hard to get it started, runs louder than it should, and doesn't provide enough flow.

I think I am either going to keep the Panworld on the skimmer and get a new return, or get a bigger pump that can run both. I don't want a lot of flow from the basement - I think it is more economical to use Tunze's for flow, and just move enough water to keep the skimmer, heaters, etc in my basement.

I also don't want a huge powerful pump, since I may move and won't have so much head to pump.

Any recommendations?

I would look at the Sequence pumps

I have used Quiet Ones and Mag Drives in the past. Both gave me good service for the dough.

Does QO or Mag make a pump that is efficient with 15' of head?

QO makes a 4000 HH (High Head) that is listed for 13 ft.

The Mags, I believe you just size it figuring gph and head length.
