I am wanting another wrasse for my tank which is a 30g cube and everywhere I look it says a 30g is ok for it.
The tank is full of LR and from what I read they are pretty passive when small so I think it should be ok but wanted to see what everyone else's experience was with them.
The other wrasse I have in the tank is a young McCosker's wrasse and other fish is a pair of onyx clowns and a Yashia goby.
Anyone care to chime in?

they spend a lot of time swimming in and out of the rock work, so by itself in a 30 it would be fine. Seeing as you said another wrasse, I am assuming you already have one in there and if they are both males you will have a fight on your hands in that small of a tank until one of them jumps/dies.

I have mine in a 40 breeder with 2 ocellaris, a bunch of rics, shrooms and a gbta.
It seems to be doing fine.

I went over to a local member's house(aug07-totm) and saw his mystery wrasse....there is no way in hell that thing can be in anything less than a 4ft tank.
I have decided not to get one after seeing that one zoom about in the big tank..

I have a Mystery Wrasse and attempted to place another Fairy Wrasse in my 140 Gallon tank. This did not go well! I would suggest that you re-read "flasher1" post because this is a possible event especially in a 30 Gallon tank.

i had a mystery in a 37 gal cube. He was very happy in there for over a year until i traded him in.
HOWEVER, he was VERY territorial. He would attack anything in that tank that wasnt there before him, and even then, it was a gamble.
Beautiful fish, awesome fish in general, but certainly a risk.
I would not put one in that small of a tank again, but if your question is will be content and do well in there? probably.
at least until he got to big, but mine was fater than fat, and never grew in length from the day i got him, till the day i traded him. he was maybe 3" at best.

consider a pygmy possum wrasse. very similar coloration, and oblivious to other fish in your tank. Not to mention WAY cheaper.
