Jon from the CT Reef Society here-
Just letting you guys know about an event in our neck of the woods that you might be interested in. I run a coral propagation project at the high school that I teach at in CT (E.O. Smith in Storrs, CT) to get kids to learn about corals, aquaculture and conservation. I am hosting a "Frag Farmers Market" at the school on June 8th from 1pm to 4pm, based on the idea of the vegetable farmers markets that you see around but with corals!. A bunch of local guys (and you too if you'd like!) are going to set up tanks at the school and sell their homegrown corals. We should have everything from mushrooms to Aussie Acans. I'm also going to run a raffle, with some nice corals and dry goods, to benefit the school project. Admission to the meeting is free to anyone who wants to come up. You can check out the 1200+ gallon aquaculture system we house at the school and pick up some nice stuff from some local "farmers." This is the firts year that we are running it but I'd like to make it an annual thing and get more and more participation from the surrounding states, sort of like what F+S does but much closer (and better!) If you'd like more details, or are interested in setting up a booth yourself, just shoot me a PM here, at Reefcentral (still Fitch4) and I'll give you more info. Thanks and I look forward to seeing some of you at the school in a few weeks!

Sounds like a super cool project. Most of the NJ Reefers can be found on our site www.njreefers.org. June 8th isn't good for alot of us because we are also having an event. But I'd post over there you never know there maybe someone interested in coming up north.
