Hello Everyone!

I am preparing my eventual livestock list for my new 40 gallon breeder tank. I am recreating a Caribbean biotype, and I'm trying to decided which fish to add. I know I want to have 3 Chalk Bass, and a Bridled Goby, but I want one more fish for color, etc. I was thinking about a Royal Gramma, but was wondering if it would get along with the Chalk Bass, or vice versa?

Anyone ever had any dealings with these fish in the same tank? Here is a shot of the setup as it is now (60 pounds Bahamas Oolite sand, and 45 pounds Haitian live rock).

Thanks!

I have never actually kept these two species together before, but i checked it out online, and cracked a few books. You should be okay as long as you have enough rock work, ( the gramma will defend it's home if intruded on) and also make sure you add all 3 chalk basses simultaneously.

That's what I kind of thought. I made sure there was a TON caves and hiding spaces when I set the rockwork up. Plus, all of the rock is up off the sand by about 1/2 inch to allow for water movement....that made even more hiding spaces.
