Hello all,
I was woundering about the green mandarin gobie, what is its behavure? mine (i have had for less then 24 hours) just sits on the bottom of the tank and does not move! maybe an ince every 4 hours. I have TONES of copeods in my tank, so many they are on my magnetic algea remover, and at night when i turn on the tank they are everywhere! The guy i got him from said that he had him eating mices shrip? I have not seen him eat it yet though.
I know this is a hard fish to keep and it is my personal goal NEVER to loose him/her! I would just like to know what i can do to insure safty and a happy life for my new tank mate!
Thank you

Well the prognosis is not good. This is not a healthy fish and will soon perish. Sorry, wish I could give you better news.

OK, did u drip-aclimate properly? It does sound like he is shocked. All u can do now is wait and see. in general, it is NOT a difficult fish species to keep, but does have its particular "special" needs, just like about anything else alive.

i have been told (and done for every fish to use 50% of your water and then 50% of the water in the bag and mix then together in a plastic bowl for 20 min? that is what i did

You should temperature acclimate for 15 minutes. THEN add a little of your tank water to the bag and do the same several times until you have doubled the volume of water shipped. You may have to empty water if the bag is too small. However, I do not think that is the problem with this fish.
