I took glass top off my 25 gal everyone said it was better to use egg crate. Well ever since I've lost a six line wrase a Diamond gobie and now the snails keep climbing through egg crate. Some I find in time and put them back in . Others no help for. The turbo grazing snails are too big to fit through egg crate holes. Many of these snails hang at top of tank glass is it the light or heat there after. Anyone else have problems keeping the smaller ones in tank when using egg crate.

What I did with mine was line the eggcrate with plastic guter gaurd. I did that to keep my eel in his tank and my gobies and other in theirs, have'nt had any problem.

My parameter are all good had LFS check them not shure what kind the cheap little elongated they fit through egg crate. What is gutter guard where do you get it ? Whats it due to thie lighting ?

it has nothing to do with the lighting. some snails just climb out for no reason at all.

gutter guard can be found at any home depot or menards it is used to line your gutters to keep leaves out.

I really like this idea... you can criss cross the netting so nothing can jump out. Also the net should be thin enough to not cut down any light or cast shadows.
