they rarely ever come out during the day. and hide most of the rest of the time. most ppl that add them hardly ever see them.

I had 5 peppermint shrimp a long time ago... I never saw them... They all huddled in the back of the tank under a rock. I accidently found them with a flashlight one night, like you said.

The only shrimp I've had that are bold, are my skunk cleaner shrimp. They stay out all day.

I also have a coral banded shrimp, but only see him during feeding time... that's about it.

I got the from www.reefhotspot.com they were on sale for $14 and are each like 3", basically bigger than my tang

Hey cap I'm in Syracuse real often. Too many low over passes!!! A few LFS I had to say that to keep it on subject.

they are not a guarantee on eating Aptaisia. I would have to say less than 50% of ppl have had success with them eating Aptaisia. and if they do eat it, they usually only eat the babies and leave the bigger ones alone.

yes you can have more than 1 in that size tank.

I had 5 in my 55g tank... like I said, they all huddled together.

The only luck I had with aiptasia was with a syringe and a liquid product... I think it was "stop aiptasia" or something, but there are a few products out there. The key is to inject them in the mouth to get rid of them.

I tried Joes Juice but you can't get at many of the aptaisia thats why I got the shrimp. Don't want to tear rock apart.

Off-topic... but did that spreadsheet end up working for you?

I resent it this morning.

I bought two to deal with some very small aptasia. They apparently ate them, because it disappeared and I have never seen any more. The shrimp were shy and hid under a rock for a week or two when I first bought them. Now they are out a lot. If I put something "meaty" in the tank like a little finely chopped frozen clam, they are all over it! They often swim to my hand if it is in tank.

I bought two, one died. The other one did eat the really small aptasia in my tank. But, I hardly ever see it.

I've used them for aiptaisia control on 3 diff occaisions. Worked every time for me.

Ronny, grab the horn and give her a rip next time you roll thru!

Caribean (Atlantic) Peppermint shrimp do the trick on Aiptasia. I put 3 in my 90 and they cleaned it out in 3 weeks. Now they come out for feeding time. I think they get braver about coming out during the day when they discover they won't get eaten by anything.
