I recently moved and have had my brain coral and a few inverts alive in a 15g Refugium. The new display setup is a 55g I that just cleared from the water fill up today. I used CaribSea Live Sand and on the bag has comments about adding sand being dangerous on existing systems unless mixed in slowly, so that made me question before I end up crashing my 15g Reef hotel.
Should I let the display fully cycle with my old LR then plumb in the 15g refugium and move the inhabitants to the display, current plan. The other option I hope will save some time and be safe. Plumb in the 15g refugium now and slowly move the inhabitants to the display over the next two weeks or so?
I guess the question is will my 15g reef hotel be enough to jump start the cycle of the 55g or will it case both systems to cycle?
